Can no longer monitor when recording

Recording in LPX 10.6+. Input monitoring is engaged in prefs, and on the track. I see signal when there's input. But I can no longer hear my self when the track is armed. In fact, when I arm the track my signal disappears. When I try to record in a fresh project. The signal disappearing issue corrects, but I still can't monitor on the armed track. Can't figure out what I did, thoughts?

Not using sophisticated bus routeing for headphone mixes etc.. Just a mic feeding the input of the channel strip thru my Apogee interface. recently got a crossgrade retro fit to my Symphony i/o recently, but can't see a connection to this issue. Please help!

Try unticking Core Audio: Enabled (and then hit apply)

Once it has applied, re-tick Core Audio (and hit apply again)

It may or may not help but is quick to do and helps in a lot of situations like this.

OK please confirm two things. Do you have the correct input set on the channel strip?

So if you have your microphone connected with an XLR cable to input number one, does the channel strip on logic reflect that and have you selected input number one?

Also are you receiving any sound or input on your interface? Do you have some kind of way to corroborates that’s the issue is not a software problem but a hardware problem?

I want to know if you were getting any signal whatsoever on your interface.

Boe,

I also have a 2bus +. May I ask how you have this routed? What is your Vocal channel strip output set to?

In my case, I send the Channel Strip to the 2bus so I can print into an audio track (input set to receive audio from 2bus)

Can you help me understand your routing?

Also, are you not hearing any sound whatsoever or is it just audio that you have routed to the 2bus?

I know that sometimes re-creating the path to my 2bus+ resets it so please try creating the Outputs all over again.

After reading this thread again, I think this could help especially since this is not happening on new sessions but on existing ones.

Update: actually was able to record regularly to a new project, but the project in question still has that issue. To be clear, I was able to interact nominally with logic at the beginning of the song's development. Anyone?

OK Mr. G, First, sorry for the delay; had to get away for a few hours to reset. I played with the 3 options in that menu; no change. And to be clear, not only can I not hear myself when recording, but the input level no longer registers when I arm the track. When I disengage the record ready button, I can monitor the input level. I know it's something I did somewhere, just can't determine what it was.

OK, My i/o buffer is at 128 because I'm trying to cut vocals. My Process buffer range was set to medium; i changed it to Large, and thnx for helping me! Still no change on the issue, but I'll go step by step to figure this out.

Rebooted the core audio driver. No change. Thing is, I recorded half the vocals on this song B4 it got screwy on me.

Only thing that I actually changed when I first cut vocals, was updating to the latest OS (Big Sur) the end of last year.

Did the Legacy crossgrade with Apogee for the MkII chasis in December. Bought the 2Bus+ and replaced the original, but routing wise this is how i'm set-up. On the channel strip input 1 is the Lauten Mic, on 1 is the AKG.

Please look at the screenshot below:

Track 1 is being routed to Output 41-42 which is then routed back to the "2 Bus Return" track where it will be recorded. That track can be "monitored" or recorded/printed into.

To clarify: your 41-42 outputs are 2Bus? To my knowledge, the 2bus sums all inputs to only 1 stereo output. Don't be frustrated please, but I'm not getting your 2Bus return dynamic. All my 2Bus inputs are connected to my patchbay Not sure how to create a return track. if i'm understanding correctly, you made a virtual 2Bus return. My i/o routing page is attached.

Well Mr. G, I'm even more confused, after talking with Dangerous. I realize I gotta take a step back to the beginning, and relearn this.

He essentially mirrored what you illustrated. Gonna stop production and 'Sesame Street' the manual til I get it! I know it's on me, and I'll figure it out. Thank you for your patience.
