iPhone 12 Pro max Overheating

I've had an iPhone 12 Pro Max for a month or so, (upgraded from an 11 Pro Max which was fine) and it's constantly dimming the screen due to overheating.

It does it with Apps, it does when charging, I've tried everything people have suggested about this 'known' issue, and it's now driving me mad. How can Apple sell you a phone for a four figure sum and know it has a design fault?

To say I'm angry is an understatement. Surely there must be a law against selling products that are faulty by design? I'm now at a loss on what to do...

Hello Paul_Geee,

This is not the type of experience that we’d like for you to have with your new iPhone 12 Pro Max, and we’ll do our best to get this sorted out as quickly as possible. This would be expected behavior when your iPhone gets too warm. This occurs to allow the device to protect the internal components. First, we’d like to ensure that you’re Keeping your  iPhone within acceptable operating temperatures

If so, please provide us with the following details:

• Do you experience this behavior when performing a particle task on your phone?

• Does the temperature warning screen appear?

• Are you running the latest iOS version? This can be found in Settings > General > Software Update: Update Your iPhone

• Do you have any app updates available? If so, complete them at this time.
