Can’t find car play in settings of iPad,

My veichle is equipped with CarPlay thru usb. When I connect, instead of iPad it connects as iPod and play only songs. How can I use my iPad thru CarPlay

CarPlay is exclusive to iOS for iPhone; CarPlay is not a supported feature of iPadOS for iPad.

iPad and iPhone have, to some degree, different features and capabilities - some being unique to the individual platform. iPhone and iPad are not necessarily interchangeable.

Apple do invite constructive feedback and comment via their product feedback pages:

There is no CarPlay support for iPads/iPadOS.

Apple CarPlay is an iPhone ONLY feature.
