Voice to text and Siri are not working

Hi,

Last night I noticed some of my voice to text features are not working.

When I attempt to use the voice to text feature from the keyboard, the visual indicator seems to show a ton of background noise. It is not able to recognize anything I say, but, eventually it fills in the word "call". I am attempting this in a quiet room.

Additionally, when I hold down the home button and Siri appears, I can speak a command and it is as if nothing was said. Siri times out and goes away.

I can open the voice recorder and record a message with no issue. I can record audio on a video facing away, or facing toward me, as well as conduct telephone calls with no issue - the person on the other end can hear me fine.

I've gone thru all sort of checks of the Siri settings as well as Dictation settings, turning them off and on.

I am on a strong WiFi network, have reset my network settings and reconnected, and have restarted the phone as well.

What am I missing? Why would the microphone fail to work only on voice dictation to text, and when giving Siri a command? I know there are 3 microphones and am unsure if perhaps one has died, but it seems strange a dead microphone would only affect these two functions.
