Help in connecting a Dell P2719H monitor to a Macbook air early 2014

Help just opened a new Dell monitor (model P2719H). I am not very good with cabels and what they mean or do.

The monitor comes with a Display port (DP to DP cable) and a usb to usb cable.

Looks like I need some kind of adaptor as my Mac doesn't have a DP slot and the monitor's notification tells me it needs a VGA cable.

Advice on what to buy, do would be great.

Thank you.
