Question

MacBook Air M1 connection to DVD

Hello

I have a recent MacBook Air M1 with Big Sur and USB-C.

I need an external CD/DVD reader/writer.

I bought a LG but with bad result. I have tried with Apple USB - USB C adapter and a USB-mini - USB C cable.

Have anyone a solution or could anyone recommend an other CD/DVD reader/writer that can be used with my MacBook Air 2020 with BigSur M1 USB-C ???

Something I could use straight out of the Box without too much fuss.

I am sure I am not the only one with this issue.

Most any drive should work using a USB-A to USB-C adapter. I have two Samsung and one Apple Super Drives that all work fine. Just be sure to connect directly to your Mac and do not use a hub.

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Thanks for your answer! I have used Apple USB-A to USB-C adapter and I also bought a USB-mini to USB-C cable to connect directly to the DVD Drive. I have seen that some people (at the web) also have problem to connect Apple USB SuperDrive to MacBook Air M1 and Mac mini M1 also. The DVD Drive works fine than I connect to the old iMac (USB-A).
