What happens if the messages app logs me out and I can no longer access messages?

How can I access the messages app on MacBook Pro? The app logged me out of messages and I can not receive or send messages.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 11.2

Hi hf1108,

Welcome to the Apple Community where some of us do our best to help each other.

Many others have this same difficulty with being unable to properly access Messages.

Apple has a few support pages that may help troubleshoot:

If you can't sign in to your iMessage account:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT204408

(Resetting the NVRAM has worked for some!)

Another of Apple's support articles:

if you can’t send or receive messages on your Mac

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210057

Hope this helps :)
