Screen time - apps are remain restricted outside of downtime

Screen time is not working properly for me. I have set downtime with app restrictions only to be in place evenings until morning (iOS and macOS). Often, on my iPhone, when I wake up the downtime app restrictions are still there (for all apps, and I haven’t made special restrictions to any but two apps). To “cle ar” this issue manually, I can power cycle my phone, but it’s very annoying to do this every morning. Have tried to toggle downtime on and off, no result. iPhone 12, iOS 14.4.1

Sorry but this is obviously not helpful. I guess this is an automatic response but based on my message it should be clear that I have already set up screen time and downtime, and am not in need of parental features.
