apple watch 6 dock

Hello, I have been trying to rearrange the apps in my dock on my watch. I do go into the app on my phone, add and subtract the apps I do or do not want on my watch, rearrange the order. Click done, and..nothing changes on my watch. I have all the apps I subtracted from my favourites in the app on my phone, as well as they are in the original order. Am I missing something? Or is this how it is to work?
