My iPhone 12 Pro Max screen dims randomly after disabling the auto dim feature. My iPhone 6S does not have this random dimming issue. Is apple issuing a fix soon in the next iOs update?
This has been a highly frustrating issue. I have gone through most if not all settings... toggled of true tone and auto brightness. Nothing as you've experienced. Here is what I did to lessen the frequency of the phone auto dimming. 1st...I went to settings >accessibility>FaceID and Attention> toggle off Attention aware features. With this feature in it causes the phone to auto dim if you are not paying attention to the phone. 2nd I went to settings> display and brightness > Auto Lock > change setting to never. However, change the time to whatever suits you best. This seem to lessen frequently dimming issue. Happy troubleshooting
Mines done this since new. So frustrating when your first Apple phone is their best.
Nope that does not work for any of the many iPhone Max 12 pros. You should actually test your solution as it does not work out of the 7 we have. The phones are broke.
As described above by Samsung, depending upon the video or app, that may be expected behavior.
Have toggled all of that stuff. Every one is off and it dims all day long in my air conditioned home. My wife over there on the couch has the exact same phone and settings. Her's never dims.
Has never happened with any phone I've ever had. Currently 3 12 pros and an 11 in my house. Only this one does the dimming.
My iPhone Max Pro 12 continues to auto dim even though all auto and accessibility tabs are turned off. Any other suggestions?
Yeah I'm just going to get a 13 pro max. This thing is a dim queen. Hopefully the 13 is good if that's possible.

Anything over 30C and high ambient light renders my screen unusable. (12 ProMax)
Took mine to the store but obviously couldn't get it to dim on command. Still doing it and no one seems to want to help.
It's not a matter of not wanting to help, but if you can't reproduce it, how is someone supposed to be able to diagnose and fix it?

Same, so we know that it’s not software related or it would record that issue. Can’t believe they’re being so ignorant to it.
So you buy a new Tesla. It randomly shuts off driving across country. It's your responsibility to replicate the issue so they can fix it? That's an absurd way to look at things.
