My iPhone 12 Pro Max screen dims randomly after disabling the auto dim feature. My iPhone 6S does not have this random dimming issue. Is apple issuing a fix soon in the next iOs update?
This has been a highly frustrating issue. I have gone through most if not all settings... toggled of true tone and auto brightness. Nothing as you've experienced. Here is what I did to lessen the frequency of the phone auto dimming. 1st...I went to settings >accessibility>FaceID and Attention> toggle off Attention aware features. With this feature in it causes the phone to auto dim if you are not paying attention to the phone. 2nd I went to settings> display and brightness > Auto Lock > change setting to never. However, change the time to whatever suits you best. This seem to lessen frequently dimming issue. Happy troubleshooting
No, if thousands have the same issue the NTSB steps in and a tsb or recall is started.

I said if you can't figure out a way to reproduce it or demonstrate it, it's exceedingly hard to diagnose and it is very uncommon.
Mine is not due to not paying attention to it- I’m on it when it does it. Mostly outside when it happens- but it’s within seconds it feels. It’s horribly annoying.
Same problem, every time the phone auto locks, the phone dims to half brightness. Turn it back up and it just does the same thing.
My iPhone 12 Pro screen reverts to 50% brightness every time I turn the screen off. Auto-brightness and True Tone are turned off, and the phone isn’t overheated. Any idea why it’s doing this?
The screen will dim if the phone gets too warm as a way of cooling itself off.
Many vendors are now not including a power brick with their new phones.
