You do not say what exact mac is this...(?)


If the battery in your 2016 or 2017 MacBook Pro won't charge past 1%—

The battery health status on these devices will also indicate "Service Recommended."

If this is a Intel Mac (does not apply to M1 SoC - equivalent Shut down, close the lid 30 secs+ , reboot as normal)

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

If the battery in your 2016 or 2017 MacBook Pro won't charge past 1%—
