swipe to unlock

I can't swipe to unlock my iPhone. The phone does not recognize any swipes.

This might be frozen software, as I’ve had that happen a couple of times.


Or this might be a failed repair, or an iPhone that’s headed for a repair, as mentioned above. Bad displays and bad digitizers can cause the screen to freeze, ghost touches, and missed touches.


Follow the force-restart sequence, which might clear this: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support


Failing that forced-restart, use the Get Support link in the upper right, and discuss your options and alternatives with the folks that work for Apple.
