Do you have raise to wake toggled on?
From your iPhone>Watch>General>Wake Screen>Wake on Wrist Raise>Toggle this on
Also make sure you have wrist detection turned on
iPhone>Watch>Passcode>Wrist Detection>Toggle this on

Check to see if you have theatre mode turned on;
Swipe up on the control panel and make sure that you don't have theater mode turned on
If the 2 faced icon is orange tap it off.
