Seems it’s Time for a New Battery:

When you say "lack of charge”, do you mean you made the battery die out (go to 0%)? If so, then it is likely time for a new battery. Letting it die out like damaged the battery in full.

So, Take it to an AASP:

Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller. Click: Service & Support > Enter your location information, and see if there is an AASP nearby. Contact one that shows up to find out more about the services that they offer to fix this, such as battery replacement.
