Biometrics error 60

Hi

I used to be able to unlock my MacBook with my fingerprint, but suddenly this wasn't possible.

When I went to settings out of the 4 options available for fingerprints, only the password authentication was ticked.

Now when I try to tick the others it won't let me and I get a "biometric error 60". Any advise on how to fix much appreciated.

thanks,

Silla

Boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and try to reset the fingerprint from there. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
