The App Store Update window is formatted all wrong, as though it is a webpage with the css missing.
It's the same on my laptop as well.
I'm using High Sierra 10.12.6
Any ideas? The other windows in the App Store look fine.

I just contacted Apple support and they suggested creating a Test User and Boot into Safe Mode. Neither worked.
Apple Supports final suggestion was reinstall MacOS. WTF! I thought I switched from Windows to Mac to avoid this troubleshooting gem!
If anyone has a suggestion to fix this problem please share.
Pretty disappointed in Apple's "Support".
It is still unfixed. I really thought by now they would fix it. Keep the feedback going to Apple. With enough pressure they should get around to it eventually.

Both of my MacBook and MBP 2015 running high Sierra encountered this too ! Its quite annoying. So I upgraded to Catalina, and problem solved. woohoo~ I think its time to move on for me.
It's just cosmetic so far, it still works here.
Oh, I totally agree with you & as much as I dislike the alternatives I'll not be buying another Mac.
I can also confirm that it is fixed on all my older Mac models, as well. Thank you Apple!
