iCloud drive on new MacBook Air showing no files?

Just bought a new Macbook Air M1, and for some reason even though all my notes, reminders, photos etc from iCloud sync fine, my iCloud Drive in finder is just blank, showing empty ‘Desktop’ and ‘Document’ folders. iCloud online and on my iPhone files, they are all there as usual. I’ve tried signing in and out of iCloud several times, to no avail.

Can anybody help at all? Photo i’ve attached is what my iCloud drive should look like, and like I say i’ve just got two blank Desktop and Document folders at the moment. Not getting the usual circle that showing iCloud is syncing at all. At the bottom of my iCloud Drive finder window it has the correct storage info, so that’s up to date, just no files!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2
