Mac Mini Monitor Advice

Hey, guys and gals.


I'm thinking of purchasing a new Mac Mini but following a decade or more of iMac use I'm completely clueless when it comes to purchasing monitors. I know that it looks like there may be a new iMac model coming out shortly, but I fancy a change. So, I'm only really looking for monitor advice.


I'll only use my Mac Mini for general use (browsing, photo storage, itunes), writing within Scrivener, light artwork within Sketchbook, and light gaming (World of Warcraft Classic only). So, I'm looking for a monitor that is smaller than 27" with great picture, good gaming use, and good speakers too (though would consider getting some good speakers if they plugged in easily enough).


Where do you start looking? Any recommendation?

Mac mini 2018 or later

Just get a set of speakers and remove the from the desired list.

Basically, no monitors will have speaker quality as good as your iMac.


In addition to what @Rudegar has said, also consider your use environment.

If it is a moderate to brightly lit area, make note of the brightness spec

(usually stated in "nits"). Brighter would be better. If it is too bright,

you can always turn it down but if it isn't bright enough...


Also, try and see the monitors in action in person. I know there are issues with the

COVID pandemic but depending on your location you may get free access

or by appointment only with retailers..


Also, while user product reviews can be somewhat suspect, if the sum

of 4 & 5 star ratings is under 90%, it is likely a product to be avoided.
