Macbook won't log in and keeps restarting

Hi. I tried to update my Macbook (Pro 13-inch, 2016, 4TBT3) to Big Sur 11.2.3 but the update kept failing during the installation process. Somewhere I read that I should try to reset NVRAM (option+cmd+P+R), which I did. Having done that, the Macbook now keeps restarting during the login process (that is, while the status bar is filling up once I've entered my password). The display just turns black and I get the start sound. I haven't updated to 11.2.3 yet or done anything else apart from that NVRAM reset. If I reboot holding cmd+R+S I get some log text ending on "ASP: System is shutting down, preventing further ASP upcalls" (attached). Would somebody be able to help me with this? Thanks a lot!
