I've tried to delete all the preferences and cache related to App Store but nothing has changed.
the update page has only some black text.

I had the same problem on a 2017 MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.13. I fixed it by upgrading my macOS. I was able to upgrade to the latest OS, Big Sur. You can upgrade without using the Update tab. Instead, find the OS you want to upgrade to directly in the App Store (online or in the app).
I’ve asked someone knowledgeable about this and it appears that it’s not a big job to correct the CSS appearance. They just don’t bother methinks!
