After a IOS update today, my audible app stops playing when my iphone screen goes into sleep mode. I've closed apps, rebooted phone and still having problem.

I have had the same issue and was able to bypass it by going to settings/Audible. Turn OFF Allow Audible to Access Media & Apple Music. Restart your audible app and now you can turn off you screen and use audible the same way as before the update.
I contacted Audible also and they did not give me anything that worked. Would you please post the steps that they gave you?

This worked for about two weeks and the problem started again. I think I’ve tried everything with no luck. Very very frustrating.

I tried that, I deleted and reinstalled the app, I force-closed and rebooted. Nothing works permanently.
This doesn’t just happen with the Audible app. I use the Audiobook app and I am having the same problem.

Thank you. This did the trick! I wish there were some kind of warning that this option would cause a problem when we are skied if we want to turn it on.

Having the same problem, super annoying. How has Audible not fixed this yet?
This is happening to me today. I listen to audible while I work and now I’m so annoyed. Anyway we can get this moved up a level to get it addressed sooner. I wish I hadn’t done the update.
