garageband cannot save songs to icloud and songs dissapeared

Okay, so I have an iPad (5th generation) and have made GarageBand songs on it, but my iPad storage is very full, but not entirely. (about 0.7 gigabytes left) When I opened up GarageBand, it showed this message. When I hit “Save to My iPad” all of my previous song have disappeared and I can no longer find them. Also, opening up iCloud (even in the files app) continues to say “Loading iCloud…” but never loads. How can I recover my songs and keep using iCloud for them? My iCloud isn’t very full.
