Unable to delete corrupted files from MacBook

I have MacBook Pro 2020. I was trying to backup my cloud data on Macbook, it was in GBs. Somehow the download did not complete successfully and although the files appear in Macbook, they don't open. When I try to delete them or send them to trash, it asks for user Authentication. After entering the password, it pops up a window saying "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items".

I am the laptop admin and i can install or delete any normal file.

I have tried going into the get info and there is read and write permission.

I have tried all you tube video solutions, nothing works.

Finally, I was able to resolve the issue myself.

Here is the solution:

Deleting file:

1: Open terminal app from application

2: type: sudo rm (drag drop file)

3: sudo rm -rf (drag drop folder)

* Enter your password if asked.

Enjoy 😊
