How do I partition the drive?
I bought an M1 MacBook Air and I want to partition the drive before anything else. Where is Recovery Mode? Is this no longer possible? Must I set up the machine first?
MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Yes, you have to set it up first. Then use Disk Utility to partition the drive. Depending on which OS and which model you have, it may only support one extra partition, which is fine since that is what you want.

I said that more than 2 partitions are not supported on some. I do not have an M1, but I know Big Sur does not allow more than 2 partitions.
(I personally dislike it)
It will never be on my daily task machine; I'd rather not be "up to date". But I've got it on the MBA to test it.
I guess I can try 11.1 Beta
Just a word of caution in advance: once you are running the beta, any discussion relating to it is not allowed here. The hosts will remove it.
