Apple mail messages loading very slowly

My apple mail account is fine. However, my wife's account it takes ages for each mail to be downloaded from the server. It is slightly better on her iMac, but on iPhone, and iPad sometimes it can take between 30-60 seconds from each mail item to load up. It can't be the wifi as we are on the same network, and the iMac is ethernet. I've tried a different mail app, but it is the same problem, the body of the email is just taking ages to appear.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you're finding that your wife's email takes longer than expected to load, and it sounds like you see different results on different devices. Is that right?

For clarification, are you using your email account on her Mac as well? If so, are you using it in the same user account, or a different one? Knowing this would help work out possible helpful steps to narrow the issue down.

On her iPhone, try disconnecting from Wi-Fi and see how it works from cellular data. This would help to rule out networking issues on her device.

Also, does she use only one email account on her iOS devices, or is this happening with multiple accounts?

Which iOS version and macOS versions are running on her devices?
