MBP Recognizing Charging Connection
My 2017 Macbook Pro has recently stopped recognizing/charging when it is connected to my charging adapter. The battery icon will either register no connection or will show the power adapter and not charge. Additionally, the computer will make the connect/disconnect/reconnect sound over and over again. I can reset the connection if I turn off my screen and keep switching the connection port - which seems to somehow signal that charging needs to start. I wondered if it is a problem with the USB-C ports, however, they still connect with other devices without issue. Here's what I have tried so far without success:
1) New power adapter/cable from Apple (same issue with both the old ones that came with the MBP materials as new ones). Also, these all work fine on other MBP's I tested.
2) Reset SMC
3) Restart the computer
4) Switch Ports (same problem in all of them)
If I do not do the strange thing of turning off my screen/closing the screen for a few minutes, then the computer will continue to rely on the battery for power until it gets to zero, and then turn off - all while being plugged in.
