AirTags - Temperature Limits

I have had family express interest in putting their future AirTags in a car for tracking in case of theft. As we live in a hotter climate, the car’s interior temperature could climb to be above 125 degrees.


I cannot find any resources stating the temperature limits for AirTags. What is the Max temperature of this device for safe keeping?

They just added this to their website:

Operating ambient temperature: −4° to 140° F (−20° to 60° C)

Hi,


I thought of an alternate way of handling this. Instead of worrying if the AirTag will melt in a hot car, you can, instead, attach it to the outside of your car with special auto tape. Of course, you would attach it somewhere where it can't be seen. Specifically, you can use "3M Auto Exterior Attachment Tape, 38582." The temperature range is -40F to 250F. Hope that helps!
