I have had family express interest in putting their future AirTags in a car for tracking in case of theft. As we live in a hotter climate, the car’s interior temperature could climb to be above 125 degrees.
I cannot find any resources stating the temperature limits for AirTags. What is the Max temperature of this device for safe keeping?

Wind chill factor is intented for the living, not material objects.

I thought of an alternate way of handling this. Instead of worrying if the AirTag will melt in a hot car, you can, instead, attach it to the outside of your car with special auto tape. Of course, you would attach it somewhere where it can't be seen. Specifically, you can use "3M Auto Exterior Attachment Tape, 38582." The temperature range is -40F to 250F. Hope that helps! 👍 Hey good info! -4 F takes care of my use case (attaching to skis), with wind chill it could get colder some days 🥶, but powder days ❄️ when I’d need it tend to be warmer. As I remember that’s better than the competition. 140 F also a good top end spec, comparable or better than others 🌞
What a totally useless post adding nothing to the information in this thread. I will be attached to the skis and will be affected by wind chill, not to mention that wind can make inanimate objects cool more quickly (albeit they don’t feel it). As previously stated -4 will meet my use case.
I’m searching for the same, the AirTag’s Operating temperature range. For instance a Tile’s range is 14°F to 140°F, I currently attach a Tile to my ski’s on a powder day in case one gets buried.
I was wondering the same thing, as well as its strength (how much weight can it withhold).
Why Apple is not responding to this question.
Apple doesn’t respond in these forums, however some here have access to information the rest of us might not see, we have to hope one of them learns the answer and let’s us know.
Someone has done some unscientific, but real world tests on the AirTags, including temperature.
