I am trying to check for updates on my Iwatch. I have hard rebooted both iphone and Iwatch. My iphone is at current software but the checking for software update for iwatch as been stuck on spin for the last hour. My phone is connected to wifi. I am about to take it back to store. I am beyond fed up. What else can I try?

Try this;
Update from the watch itself.
Place the watch on the charger.
Make sure that your watch is connected to wifi.
On your watch, open the Settings app.
Tap General > Software Update.
Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
