Moving photos from iMac to iPhone.

How do I move photos from my iMac onto my iPhone so that I can upload them to Instagram?

As a photographer my images are loaded and stored on my iMac, but I wish to use Instagram as a social media outlet for my images.

iPhone 6, iOS 12

You can use AirDrop for any content, including photos. In Finder, open the folder with the photos, Select a photo or photos, then click on the Share icon (that’s the square with the up arrow) and choose AirDrop. Before you do that on the phone go to Settings/General/AirDrop and make sure it is on.

My iPhone is connected to the iMac by USB. I do see the iPhone in Finder. I do not believe that iCloud Photos is switched on.

I have created an Album in "Photos" for the images I wish to transfer (and will add to this from time to time).

"Sync photos from your device is ticked and set to Photos. Sync I have chosen selected albums. In the list of albums I have ticked the album from "Photos" on iMac. I hit the "Sync" button. it says it is syncing step 5 of 6. But not his is downloaded.

Please advise

Many Thanks Richard
