When can we expect to see support for the Apple TV app on the Sony A90j TV running the Google TV app? I am having a hard time logging into my Apple account on this TV.

Just suffered with the “verification error” for a half hour but found a way. None of the privacy settings or app update methods worked for us.
Maybe this can help someone.
On your iphone (this needs to be a device with same apple ID you want to sign into the tv app with), go to a video you’ve taken and use the corner swipe menu to screen mirror to the sony tv. The tv should show up in your list of devices. Let the video play for a bit then pause. Don’t stop screen mirroring but press the home button on the tv remote and navigate to the apple tv app. From the settings menu get to the sign on screen and choose sign in with device. Use the same device you screen mirrored to enter the code.
Once you have successfully signed on this way, you should be able to add other apple id accounts from the settings menu as well.

Just tried this on my Sony x90j google tv. IT DIDN’T WORK
I have the same model TV, spent 2 hours on it too and same issue. It’s soo frustrating
Same here. I’ve down graded the app and reinstalled the update. I have the privacy settings checked.
I just get a scrolling wheel on screen whenever I try and sign in. Also airplay fails every time.
I've had no issues with the Apple TV app on the A90J. Not sure how this is different from having a separate Apple TV plugged into HDMI.
This worked for me. After agreeing to the services I then had to uninstall/clear data for the apple tv app. Restart tv. Then re enable the apple tv app, then update the app, and then it worked.
