Store library fcpx

I have finished my film and want to delete everything from my macbook and store all files, projects etc in a folder on an external hard drive. Is "delete generated files", then "consolidate library" to a folder on the external drive and then drag the fcpx-bundle file to that folder, and finally, delete all on my macbook safe?

So that I in the future can just go to that external drive, click on the fcpx-bundle icon and get everything back?

thanks, Lennart

"Consolidate" will copy everything into the location you select for the library.

If that is "In Library", it will copy everything into the Library.

This has the benefit that the library will be self-contained.

You can even choose to include any used Motion templates - so if you take that library to a different computer, which may not have some of the effects, titles, etc. it will still work.

1) Delete Generated Files --- that is a good thing to do, because they take a lot of space and need not be saved; they may be generated again in the (unlikely) event that they are needed.

2) How you consolidate depends on your personal preference. What you describe should work fine.

An alternative may be to consolidate into the library itself. This would make it self-contained.

Either way, it should basically work.
