iPhone XR white text flickering on dark backgrounds

I’ve been noticing this lately. I’ve only had the phone 2 months. It’s only usually on dark mode, when I scroll the text flickers or dims and brightens really fast. I reset device, reset software. Bothers eyes at night. Even more noticeable if night shift is on. This isn’t normal. And I can’t find a solution. The irony is it’s supposed to be easier on the eyes with dark mode and night shift. But the screen constantly flickering is really bothersome. Could this possibly be a bad screen?
