How to tell if family member has access to Apple TV+?

Hi there,

I’ve just activated my free one year subscription to Apple TV+. I have invited a family member to Family Sharing and they’ve accepted and I can see that they’re now part of Family Sharing.

However, when they go to their Apple TV app (on their Mac) it gives them the option to start a free 7-day trial, suggesting that they don’t have access to Apple TV+. How do we tell if they do have access? And if they don’t, how do they get access to my subscription?

Thank you in advance!

On Macs, users need to sign in to the TV app separately (menu Account). Then the Family Sharing link will be recognized, and by extension also Apple TV+.
