4K Apple TV audio sync issues?

My 4K Apple TV seems to be having audio sync issues when it comes to me playing any of my movies through home sharing. I have three other Apple TV set a third generations and neither one of them seem to be having this issue. After a couple of minutes into movie the audio and video get out of sync. I tried factory reset, I changed hdmi cable, even tried audio calibration, rebooted my iMac running home sharing. It’s only affecting my 4K Apple TV. Any suggestions to fix?

There are a number of people who are experiencing audio sync issues after upgrading to 14.5. I had it on my AppleTV 4K. Apple support had me take it in for repair and since it was still under warranty they just replaced it with a new one. My new one has 14.4 installed and I no longer see sync issues with the audio.

I was also experiencing audio popping and crackling on the videos that showed sync issues. I hope that Apple can get these issues fixed soon. While I'm ok with keeping 14.4 on my AppleTV, I had upgraded my iPad and iPhone devices and now can no longer downgrade them back to 14.4.

The recent updated fixed sync. However now when I select Screen Mirroring from my iMac for the 4K Apple TV, I do not see a video signal on my TV. I hear audio but have no video. In the past it's been easy to use the TV as a (technically 3rd) monitor and say slide a dedicated browser tab over on my TV for streaming playback. No longer. Anyone else run into this?

Yes I’m having the same problem. I noticed when I use Bluetooth headphones the audio is out of sync when watching a film or tv show in the Movies or TV Shows apps, I have the latest generation Apple TV 4K, the software is up to date and I’ve tried Resetting and Audio Calibration and trying different audio formats. YouTube and Netflix is fine, the audio sync issue only happens when using the in-built iTunes apps like Movies. Really annoying, they need to sort this out.

Same problem here. However I am not sharing. I am only using current AppleTV 4K ( TVOS 15.0 - 19J356) with new AirPods Pro (just purchased) … when watching on AppleTV. Had to stop watching movie Dune HBO last night with AirPods Pro and just use TV speakers. The audio/video sync issue.

I've tried all of the same things that you recommended and am still having all the same issues as others. this is just with my 4K Apple TV.

When will Apple be sending out a fix for this?

Just updated with macOS Big Sur Version 11.4 (20F71), tested a different file with AAC audio and the previous test files and guess what. Still a problem.

Again, those issues happen on AppleTV HD (5,3) as well and not just on the 4K devices. Two HDs here - exactly the same problem.

Using your personal library? Seems there are 2 issues here?

mine also is across atv hd and 4K, but only from my personal library!

Seems personal library is related to QuickTime on your Mac, not the atv?

Same thing happening to me, the file works and sounds fine in everything else BUT my Apple TV and I’ve tried other content which I watched months ago and it’s doing the same thing! 😡

why do i have the identical issue with identical personal file playing on a secondary monitor on Mac? That's got nothing to do with the Apple TV?
