Apple Music Not Working after iOS 14.5 Update

After updating to ios 14.5, my Apple Music can only play the few songs that are physically on my phone. Is anyone else having that problem?

iPhone XS, iOS 14

I am having the same issue. iPhone 11pro, iOS 14.5.1 and Apple Music will not play songs that are not stored on the phone. I either get “cannot connect”, or it plays a preview of the song (like an I purchased song in iTunes).

Please fix this Apple!

It’s a shame as nobody from Apple has responded. These issues are discussed all over other sites and still no fix. I bought a iphone mini just to play music in the car and now that one purpose it was bought for stopped working. It’s a shame as you wouldn’t think these kind off issues would not happen with APPLE. As no representative has even bothered to reply to anyone else shows it’s known issue.

Let me help.. It worked for me. First go to settings, go to music, turn on cellular, add playlist songs, sync library and set Dolby atmos to automatic. Then go to your iPhone id, sign out of iCloud and after 10-20 seconds sign in back. All downloaded songs will be deleted and you have to download them again but after that the problem will be sorted.

I can’t play ANYTHING on the music app. Not downloaded songs, nothing will stream, the browse, radio and listen now don’t work either. Absolutely NOTHING will play, and I’m paying $14.99/month for a family share plan. So this is ridiculously frustrating. I’m on 14.6, so I have the most recent update. It’s irritating how apple isn’t responding to these complaints, or even acknowledging that the problem exists. I’ve tried all of the things people have posted to try, and nothing works.

i am having the same issue . i’ve been having this problem for a couple of months & it is starting to get very frustrating . i can only play/listen to certain albums completely through w no problems but w other albums that is not the case . ever since the update w the iphone & dolby & lossless , songs only play for 15 seconds . when i go to add songs to playlists it’s rare that it will actually add & when it does it adds it twice so when i go to delete 1 it deletes both . this is very stupid . i feel like i shouldn’t have to change my settings to play music on a app that i pay for . it’s supposed to be quality & it’s not giving that

I cancelled my Family subscription, I can't use it so what's the point of having it?

I'll rejoin if they fix it unless I go to Spotify, Amazon or something else in the meantime.

Apple kit is very expensive, especially the new iPhone - we do not expect failures & poor performance.

In the wake of these problems my 2 daughters just bought new Huawei P20 pros - saved a fortune & use Amazon music.

Hey Guys,

Has someone found a solution to this?

Apple Music works fine on my iPad but on my iPhone it doesn’t and it’s really really frustrating!

@apple, where is your service and answer on this topic? I found a lot of other tickets concerning this issue, and I’ve the feeling that Apple’s service is put on mute for this issue!

We are all paying a subscription for nothing, that’s what we call a great service!

The issues that I had with Apple Music occurred on both O2 & EE 4G networks.

I changed networks but dumped my subscription when I realised it was Apple.

In addition, I also had issues with the TomTom navigation app that their tech support could not fathom.

In the end, I dumped that too.

It is possible that the Apple Music problem may have been fixed in iOS version 14.7.1

I did a quick test with Apple free version and all worked properly & as expected.
