Got different product at Apple store - bought Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Pro 12.9 5th gen, but got 4th Gen

Dear all,

I have iPad pro 12.9 2020 and have ordered Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Pro 12.9 on apple websites - they have only one for 5th Gen (new iPad 2021) but compatible with 4th and 3rd based on info at the product description. But in the shop they gave me Keyboard Folio 4th Gen and told me, that 5th is not available and not compatible with older ipads… does the info on apple websites wrong? Who can explain me if no one at apple store??

I wanted to buy Keyboard Folio 5th Gen as I will go for new ipad once available and would like to have fitting one keyboard.

While we can certainly confirm that the Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Pro 12.9 that is compatible with the 5th generation is also compatible with the 3rd and 4th generation iPad Pro 12.9, Apple products are available for sale in Thailand through your local Apple Authorized Resellers. You'll want to reach out to them directly to inquire further.

To chat with a Sales Support advisor, have you tried clicking on "Contact Us" on the product's description page, under the "Add to Bag" button? You should see the option to initiate a chat session there.

Yes, it goes to the same page to call to US. Even I found another link at bought product page - chat now. It goes to the same call page. Maybe my region doesn’t have the chat support?? I will call them as i do not see any other option how to contact them.

i have used the link, started chat with online support and after long problem description they told me, that they are technicians and cannot help me, but should go to sales support via provided link. Problem is that there’s no chat sales support available, only direct call to US. I have click on chat with sale support and automatically got to the info page for direct phone call… terrible

Right, I open VPN and set US and got chat option (currently I am in Thailand). With that chat I was able to message via iMessage, but any messages are undeliverable 🤷‍♂️ with or without vpn, time in US is 20:54 Washington
