Is anyone having problems with the latest HBO Max update from April 25, 2021?
Device is Apple TV HD 4. TV OS is 14.4.xxx.
HBO Max was working perfectly until a few days ago, now it seems to hang (the three dots forever) and the only way to correct the problem is to restart the AppleTV.
Other apps work fine, including Netflix.
Bandwidth is sufficient.
Just received a message from HBOMAXHELP. They've released an update for the app. It's on the App store. I believe this brings it to version 50.25.3. I've updated it and it's OK so far but still needs further testing in the next couple of days.
Hmm. Not an encouraging sign. I've taken to Twitter, maybe that will get their attention at least. Other than that, I'm out of ideas.
I was told you can find the version number in the App Store by clicking About or What's New for the app. That's how I found out. It's the last version installed on my Apple TV.

Hmm. Haven't tried that yet. Sounds a bit awkward given the size of my iPhone SE's screen but it's one way to get around the problem.
I'm glad to hear HBO is aware of the problem. Today is the first day in a long time I haven't had to reset my Apple TV to watch HBO MAX. Maybe they fixed things.
