Can we link a deleted Apple ID to a new apple ID?

I had 2 apple ids one on my iphone other on my IPad by mistake .... The one on my Ipad is personal email and the one my iphone is the phone number. I wanted to merge both the accounts as it was not possible ( or atleast thats what i thought ) and went ahead and deleted the Ipad apple id but boy was i wrong. Right now I have a alternate mail in my iphone and if i try link to my personal mail it is not working. Is it possible to link my personal mail to my new apple id even if it is after a while (30 days or more).

I just want to know that is there any remote chance to get my personal mail to link to my new phone or i should give up or ask for apple support.

There have been posts by people who have contacted Apple Support and they were told that if you delete an ID associated with an email address, you can never reuse the email address for an Apple ID.  I have also seen posts that stated Apple told them there was a 30 day waiting period before the address could be used again.You will need to get another e-mail address to use as your Apple ID if the 30 days didn't work.
