Reformat WD elements hard drive for MacOs

Hello. I have bought a WD elements external hard drive but it needs reformatting and installation first. Unfortunately, my macbook is not working at the moment : I updated it to Big Sur but my device won’t install it so now i can’t even log into my user account on my device. I am wondering if I can reformat it in another macbook and later use it with my mac.

Thanks 😀

Yes, you can use almost any Mac. If you need/want APFS as an option it needs High Sierra or higher.
