Start-up items won't hide on Big Sur. "Hide" box is checked.

Hi,

I have a Mac Mini M1 (Big Sur) and besides the annoying Wifi problems so many others seem to have, I have another problem I'd like to fix. When I start my computer, some of the start-up items preference windows show-up with every new start (the preference windows of Typinator, Shortcuts, One Key and CopyLess). The checkbox "Hide" is activated for all start-up items. I got my old keyboard from my old PowerMac G4 to reset PRAM (reset doesn't seem to work with the keyboard). A reset with the terminal wasn't possible. I couldn't enter my admin password in Terminal. Behind the command "Password:" was an key icon. I know that the terminal doesn't show the password you're entering, but it's simply not possible to enter the password at all. I know from other forums that other Mac users have the same problem. After trying to enter the Admin password an error message shows up. Something like"Sorry, try again".

Does anyone have an idea how to hide the preference windows of the start-up items?

Thank you!

Mac mini, macOS 11.2

My problem got solved. I contacted the developers of Typinator. In their newest Beta is an option to hide the window at start-up. CopyLess 2 was just released, it has also an option to hide the window at start-up. Only One Key has no option to hide the window at start-up, but as the app exists so long and the developer doesn't charge much for it, I'm fine with that.

Anyway, thank you Luis for trying to help!

The traditional way to reset NVRAM by holding down keys on startup that we’ve used for so long does not apply to Apple Silicon macs. I don’t think there is an NVRAM or SMC in the sense that we are familiar with.

To do something different on startup, like Safe Mode ir Recovery, just keep holding the power button until startup options are presented.

What command did you try in Terminal and what happened when you typed your password?

Hello Luis,

thank you for your reply. I typed "sudo nvram -c" into the terminal (I found the terminal command at the techjunkie website / How To Reset PRAM Or NVRAM On A Mac). Then I was asked to enter my admin password. Behind the field "Password:" was a key icon. After I entered the password the error message appeared.
