Big Sur Not Updating As Notified on iMac (recent purchase, is a 2019 model)

Hello,

In last 4 days, I have gotten at least 2 pop-up notifications announcing macOS Big Sur is scheduled for update that night to Big Sur 11.3. macOS version continues to be 11.2.3.


Storage: 174 GB of 250 GB is available.


The log under System Information > Software > Logs > Installer Log

Size: 5.4 MB (5,413,226 bytes)

Please do restart in Safe Mode, then open System Preferences and click Software Update.

I cannot pinpoint why this may have occurred however I would encourage you to read up about what Safe Mode restarts achieve as well as what resetting the NVRAM (NVRAM Reset) does. These are common resets used with Mac OS. Knowing what they do will help you if you ever experience an issue, that way you can simply execute the proper reset and be back in business.
