Walking is not credited as exercise

I have seen this question before but it's 2021 and I don't believe there has been a change? Are there plans for Apple to drop their silly "brisk walk" rate in order to get exercise minutes? I could set it to other and eat a turkey leg and get credit. It seems to be that Apple is missing an opportunity here as any walking is better than nothing and older adults or those rehabbing from an injury would benefit from the watch and accounting of their exercise. I know they could use "other" but that doesn't not add to some data points and they could use a third party app - why pay all of this money for an Apple Watch if you need workarounds?
