Problem with 4K 60Hz

Dear,

I have a problem with my MacBook pro M1 and I do not get 4k resolution with 60hz (only 30Hz) on my Benq EL 2870U. I connected my MacBook Pro to my monitor with cable (USB-Type C to HDMI).

I always get 2k (1440p) with 60hz.

Can you help me, what is the problem?

LG 27UL550 Frame Rate Hello, I have a LG27UL550 on my MacbookPro 18,3 and it is attached with a USBC to HDMI cable. When set to 1920x1080, I can get it to only go to 30Hz. The cable states that it supports higher at this resolution, but I have been unable to have any luck with increasing it. Is this a known issue, or am I just missing a setting? We've also tried using a USBC hub before purchasing the USBC to HDMI cable and didn't have any luck using that as well. I tried the exact same setup with a Surface Laptop 4, same monitor and cable, and it displays at the desired resolution with 60Hz, so I can confirm the cable and monitor both work as intended. Please help!

Hello Jevic989,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. If you are having trouble with external monitors, make sure that you have calibrated the resolution on them for optimum usage on your Mac. Go to System Preferences - Displays - Resolution

Take a look at this resource for some troubleshooting steps.
