frozen iPhone

I tried to restart my iPhone when I turned it back on it got frozen on apple logo screen. I pressed the volume buttons then held the other button. nothing happened. Plugged it in to my MacBook and got the screen to show up with the plug. my computer updated. it stayed on that screen was like 10 minutes then went to apple logo again. it goes black and back to apple logo every few minutes.
