My alarm will not play the song I picked for it. How do I fix it?

i want my alarm to play a song from iTunes. I have a iTunes subscription, I downloaded the song and added it in the alarm settings. When the alarm goes off it plays the generic alarm tone, not the song I selected. I have the latest update, deleted and reinstalled both the alarm and iTunes.

Can’t Change Alarm Song I haven’t been able to change the song on my alarm for years. I was able to add a few, and now I can’t add any new ones. I make a new alarm and go to pick a sound, and pick a song that isn’t already an option. The song appears empty, and after saving, the alarm sound defaults to “none” I have access to Apple Music, all of my music is downloaded, and I used to be able to do it. Selected Alarm Sound Not Working (SOLVED) I tried to respond to a post about the selected alarm sound not working and how it only plays the default. However it wouldn’t let me because the post was old. I was having this issue but I figured it out! My alarm sound I selected was no downloaded through my music app. Once I downloaded it, the sound started to work. SOLVED: the song you want to use needs to be purchased AND downloaded! download it through your music app.

The song needs to be on the device and not on iCloud see the pic below for the Alarm clock to play a song.
