How to disable automatic window resizing when dragging windows

I have a large monitor and 20+ times per day I move a window and if I place it close to the top of the screen OSX automatically resizes it to fill the entire screen. How do I turn off this functionality?

macOS has no such feature. You may be accidentally double-clicking the title bar. Check System Preferences > Dock and uncheck "Double-click a window's title bar to…"
