Suddenly, my iphone 8 will not connect to my wifi network. The network is listed and chosen by the phone and shows the bars indicating it's connected under Settings>Wifi, but up top it's T-Mobile LTE or spinning gear. No internet service.

This is strange. No it shouldn’t happen like this. Maybe a wipe of the phone might work. If not then it could be a hardware problem.
give this a try here is a link to how to do it. BUT! make sure you have a backup of your phone, photos etc as you will lose all these when doing this.

you could be limited by the wifi point by your mac address, or it could not like that you have a changing mac address that comes with the new update from apple. is this at your home?
sure. all devices here are working perfectly. mine works nowhere...except very intermittently...like 10 minutes a day.
aha. yes, it is my home and there was a system update just prior to when this problem began but i don't know how to fix. thoughts?
so, out of the blue, it's connected now but am sure it'll drop again. why would it mostly not work but then briefly resolve?
i will gladly try the steps from the links u sent. I did a wipe and it didn't resolve the issue. But will take your advice before i go drop another bundle of $ for a new phone! Thanks
