AirPods say connected but won’t connect

Hi, try cleaning the tips of your airpods. Usage over time block the small net inside your airpods, this can affect the sensors.

Also, try a hard reset of your phone and then Restart your paired device, e.g., iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch etc. Then try again. Disable Automatic Ear Detection to see if this fixes your problem. Simply go to Settings > Bluetooth > AirPods and and turn off Automatic Ear Detection.

Update I got them to work. I had to trick my phone. Get Siri to play the music because doing it manual freezes the phone. Once the pods are in your ear and music is playing. Hit the air pods under audio to connect. That should work

So once you go though all the setup on screen.

when you put them in your ears, can you then play music and see if they make sounds?

You shouldn’t she to select anything. Just put them in your ears and you should hear them make a sound connecting to your device. And at the top in a drop down message it says connected.

could you give me more information as to what you mean by this. Where does it say this?

So when you open the case it comes up on your phone? With out having to do anything?

so no going into settings etc?

Same! It pops up my name air pod pro. Says connected but it freezes my phone and won’t actually connect to play the audio. But they pair to my ipad. Brand new please help.
